how do you cut a bagel in FIVE peices with ONLY TWO cuts?

break bagel into two halves. Cut one half with 2 cuts, that leaves 4 pieces and the other half is the 5th piece.

cut the bagel from the top in a "u" shape around the hole and back to the top. then cut both pieces (the whole bagel) in half right across (not in half as you would to put cream cheese on it.) now you have five pieces.
