So about 3 weeks ago I decided to peirce my own lip and it looks really cool but ive done a good job so far about hiding it from my mom. I was wearing an earing in it before and the hold isnt that noticeble but now I got an actual lip ring and it has a bigger gauging (18) and I'm afraid she will catch on
but i reallly want to keep it! It looks so cool!

Stay with the size one you have in now if you don't want your mom to notice, or you could just go to her and tell her and if she doesn't freak get the bigger Gages.....

Take it out and let it heal over before the backing rips your gums off of your teeth. It happens almost all the time after a few years with a lip piercing. People say, "Well, nobody told me," so I am telling you now.
Search using "lip piercing periodontal" as a search term and you will find over 2,000 articles documenting this destruction.

You can get things called retainers that are clear or flesh colored to put in your piercings so people don't notice them. Ask at real piercing shops, the type that do only piercings or only piercings and tattoos, they'll have some that you can buy. They're usually pretty cheap, too. But your mom is going to find out sooner or later.

just don't put in the ring. i did the exact same thing a few summers ago, used an earring and hid it from my mom. it hurts really bad when you try to put the ring in, and it takes awhile to take out, and if you're gonna be hiding it, you can't spend 2 minutes removing it. also, once it stretches out, she'll definitely catch on. just stick with the earring.

Honestly I hate to be the bearer of bad news but she is gonna find out sooner or later. It would be best to go ahead and tell her. She might have a problem with trusting you if you keep secrets (such as piercings) from her. If she gets mad try and act mature and try to earn her trust back. Good Luck!

Tattoo & Piercing shops carry an array of clear jewelry. These "plugs" allow for the piercing to stay open while you hide it from employers, parents, etc. Beware, though, they're not totally invisible.

for a while when i had it, i ALWAYS was sucking on the spoon side of a spoon, then i pretended i was an anarchist and had a bandanna covering my nose and mouth... then i found a clear stud, they are kind of hard to find but i just cut it down and caked concealer on it and that worked until i forgot i had a lip ring in one night. good luck..

well i dont no much about that stuff butt it seems to me u dont have a good relationship wit ur mom. About the lip... close it up and have it done pro.

tell her the truth before she catches you. no way to hide unless you take the ring off or never see your mom face to face.
