Actions speak louder than words. This is probably not the first time that your mother had to worry. It was the only the first time that you got caught by the law. You have to act like an adult and then your mother would not worry. It would help if you dropped in on occasion. And, I would advise you to share your life with your mother. And, last of all, mothers worry because they care.

The issue is trust. I would say for you to start rebuliding the trust relationship. I know it's hard. Specially if you are being 100% truthful. Remember trust is something that is earned.
For now, just bear a little with her and then you'll see how things will be better as her trust is regained. Be patient and keep hanging in there.

As long as you don't get in to trouble anytime soon, The increased attention will subside soon. It's going to take a while, parents do worry even when their children are adults.

E-mailing once or twice a week...calling to ask how she is doing once a week...those sort of checking up on her things will reassure her that you're responsible and caring and will reassure her that she doesn't need to check up on you if you have the time to sit down and e-mail or call her.
