Websites in and of themselves are not illegal or legal. The content they offer such as copyrighted songs or hate material may be illegal. Some sites sell things which are illegal in certain areas, such as cell phone signal jammers and some types of guns.

I don't make it a habit of visiting sites offering illegal items or content.

As IT Pro said, websites can't be illegal but the content they offer may be.

I wanted to add that there was a virus a few months ago sending messages to people saying that the message was from the fbi and that they had 'visited illegal websites'. It included an infected attachment and said that it was a contact form. If you got an email like this and opened the attachment (and you don't have recent antivirus software), then you should get a utility like mcafee stinger (free--link below) to remove the virus.

Yes there is..
But the meaning is different..
The content of the website makes it legal or illegal.
For example my site http://rikkuartz.forumup.in gives free softwares which is not legal..so technically my site is illegal...
For free stuff softwares with cracks and keygens and anything log on....
