How do you feel about abortion and why?

my best friend says it is wrong because it is murder. he says that if doctors were allowed to have their way he would not have been born because the doctor would have made his mom have an abortion. and that is my best friend. i have taboos about it where I feel it is wrong. It is too easy for me to want to share the same viewpoints as my friend because he is a good guy, and a christian. when i was living on the streets though, some things came to mind. i mean .... what if a mother didn't want to have a baby and we made abortion illegal? she would have the kid but there is a chance that she would not make a good parent because she didn't want the kid in the first place. what if she wanted to receive benefits and decided to keep the baby after the goverment wouldn't let her have an abortion just so she could receive child support? but life is a blessing, and how can i say kids didn't deserve to live because their mothers were raped? my friend argues that women abuse abortion. like what would happen if a guy and girl were married and she went and had an abortion and he wanted to be a father? i guess the main thing, personally, is i question if some of these people should be allowed to have kids. also i do not thing that group homes and foster parents are always a good answer. this is a touchy subject and i don't know what to commit too. i am just bringing some stuff to the table but i hope people will be more responsible about not having babies if they are not ready for them. oh wait, one more point. they have the day after pill, which is obviously a way to abort. but isn't birth control a form of abortion, or even condoms? with that in mind, at what age is a baby not considered a human being? i once speculated on whether a kid is not a human being until it is delivered because it has not cried or breathed outside air or felt the sun rays or been held. but can't a baby get experiences in the womb? another interesting question one should ask is should we use embroyos for human stickle cell research? and this question applies to both aborted embroyos and miscarriaged.

i also wanted to add that there may be people who will do it anyway whether it is illegal or not. which could be dangerous. but then society expects us to follow laws and they will punish you for breaking a law and i dont want to condone law breaking. one person brought up an interesting point about making it harder. my friend suggested someting to the affect (i might be adding something here) that we could have a court system or some kind of agency to decide if the risk or decision is worth making.

In my opinion,it is murder.I feel that life begins at conception.Abortion would never be an option I would consider for myself,even if my life was in jeopardy or I was raped.
That being said however,I do believe it has to remain legal.As women will find a way to get one anyway and maybe at a great risk to their own health.
Even though I would never consider the option,it isn't for me to tell others what they should do.I do feel sorry for the women who do make the decision to have an abortion and then feel the guilt and pain for the rest of their lives.

What a deep question with so many potential answers! Even a simple person such as myself has no simple answer to this. On a personal level initially I find it a little abhoring. But to think about it on an intellectual level, there are cases when it should be at least considered. In this world which is not so perfect, and horrible things happen to innocent women and children, the answers are not always in black and white.

my opinion personally is neutral right now. i think that the government cant control what a woman do to her body. i do think abortion is wrong because you are killing a living thing but theres nothing we can do about really. we can try to make abortion harder to do but the way i see it if we get rid of abortion legally there will be many deaths and injuries amoung woman because they are trying to rid themselves of a responsiblity but those many tricks and rumors. for instance drinking a bunch of liquor in a bath tub or drinking a carbonated drink upside down or having it surgically removed illegally. somethings like this can cause injuries so i think theres really we can do

It's a necessary evil. I know of a very religious man who was always talking against abortion but when his daughter got knocked up by my nephew she got whisked away for an abortion faster than you can believe. No one was ever supposed to talk about it.

i think its killing a life. It's terrible. One thing I never understood is abortion. If two people dont want a baby, why have "sex". It is the stupidest thing ever. I feel if one made a mistake like that, one should be responsible for their actions. One should not take the easy way of life.

Abortion is a good option.

Sure, it does make you seem incapable of handling your love life. But then again, accidents happen. And just because they happen it doesn't mean that they should be left alone and grow.

I think it is a very personal decision. Every case is different. I think it is an option for women that have been sexually abused and got pregnant as a result, or in life threatening situations. Any other case it is an easy escape for irresponsible women who do not wnat to take responsibility for their own actions. You can always give them for adoption or fight for your child.
