You can do something. In fact, McAfee did something about it. Did you hear about their awesome product? it is called (SiteAdvisor).

SiteAdvisor is a small add-in to your browser that takes almost no Internet bandwidth. This add-in looks like a button on your browser. When you open a website that is known for fishing and scams, the button turns red and gives you a sleek warning. When you go into a well known website like yahoo, the button turns green.

This program is based on user reviews in addition to the effort of McAfee team. When you install the program you can register and give feedback for the websites that you think is not right. This way the program keeps getting better and better.

You can find all the information on the website:

Play along with them and get them to send you the fake checks. It costs a scammer about $49 for a FedEx letter from Nigeria to the US. Do that enough and you can get them to waste a good chunk of change.

If you use your real address, make sure you use a fake name. I used the name of a local cop AND the address of the local polce department.

report them and spread the word around! the problem is ,many such cases go unreported and many times, such scammers , even if legally shut down, just spring up under a new name! so its imperative to let everyone kno of their modus operandi.
