No, but he was certianly the Democrat's most popular.
The Democratic party has done more to destroy Black america than even the Klu Klux Klan did -- The Klan just killed and terrorized us. The Democrats have lied to us, manipulated us, made sure that we by and large cannot function in America without some form of Democratic assistance... like the old saying goes, "The more you need government, the more you need Democrats." Well, if you want to discuss slavery -- you need look no further than welfare and the countless other "assistance" programs that have done exactly nothing to better the black community but has done everything to keep it beholden to Democrats.
In short, the history of the Democratic party with regards to black people has been a series of lies, empty promises, and manipulative vote-buying schemes. Just stop and consider for a moment that the man considered by Democrats as "the first Black president".... is a white man. That in itself speaks volumes about the Democratic mentality.

Get off Clinton! He was 100 times better than Bush! He left the country better off than he found it, he didn't get military killed!
Back up your statement as I never saw him treat blacks in a condenscending manner. In fact he had a lot of good friends that were black!
And he never said this:
"Do you have blacks, too?"
—Bush, speaking to Brazilian President Fernando Henrique Cardoso.
