Cubby or larger than life gay peoples are like so totally chastised. I mean for like god sakes, they have to belong to a click. I should know, because I'm larger than life as well. The few chubby chasers I have met are more interested in just being fat, and don't care about you in anyother way, but I not saying that they are all like this. I just don't know if I fit into the bear community, but I know for that I cannot fit into the gay community unless I can do something else incredibly well, like fashion, hair and make-up, comedy, ect...What if you just chubby and gay and that is it?

If you only look for other guys in the cruise bars where the gym bunnies go to pick up a one-nighter, then yes, you'll be pretty much ignored. So would a lot of other perfectly nice guys who don't fit the stereotype.
However, if you look at joining local clubs where the focus is not sexuality/dating, then you'll start to meet other gay guys who are all shapes and sizes, and are interesting and fun to be with (and yes, of course some will be boring and annoying - it's a complete cross section of society).
My own preference was to join a gay square dance club (not your mother's type of square dancing! I found them through the IAGSDC http://www.iagsdc.org. But you need to find something that interests you.
You can also try volunteering for all kinds of gay or gay-related organizations - again, a great way to meet other men.

Im ALL about the skinny little toothpick twinks. But there is definately a market out there for all body types of gays. If your kinda chuby, but you dont like the "bear" community, you should start working out and turn the chub into muscle. Or you can create your own clic and say FCK everybody else. Either way, atta girl.

They are not ! There is a whole community of bears, chubbies and chasers that find them attractive.
Your premise is completely wrong
If you don't like the market you are in change markets, but it may involve you haveing to lose weight or stop doing drag etc etc

Sweetheart get over it. You're gay so you're already in the the gay community. Yes there is a cross section of body worshippers who will always worship the greek God figure and aspire to look like that (slaves to advertising & beauty products). And that's the beauty of our community, its diversity. From Body builders to chubs, bears, twinks, leather, S&M, Tranie's, Cross Dressers etc. etc. No matter the shape or size they are all welcome.

Actually the only area in which larger gay men are "chastised" would be the "shallow" end of the "community pool".
Ask me if I care about their "chastisements" next.
ROFLMAO!!

I don't think that your situation applies only to gays...I think that the media and the fashion industry have made it impossible to find any real looking people in a magazine....Really, the ideal they have created just doesn't exist...the models are 13 poreless and flawless....few of us retain that after a certain age...i think ,yes, you are probably discriminated against..and I'm sorry...but I don't discriminate on that basis.....not all of us do.

There's bears everywhere matey just go along and play its just about preference ....if you worry about what one group or the other thinks about you,you wont enjoy anything
I think the gay community idea is a bit of a myth, i think its pretty much every poof for himself ...they use the word community when they want to force a decision on a group don't fuss it be yaself and be happy ...hugs

From personal experience, I find this to be absolutely true. My boyfriend is, unfortunately, "fatist" and seems to resent me talking to a heavy-set guy in bar (even for just friendly chit-chat) regardless if the guy can be classified as a "bear."
Also, we have a group of friends that gets together to play games every Sunday and one of us is an overweight guy who identifies himself as a bear. I often find that he's left out of the conversations and ignored by some of my other friends, who are very toned and good-looking.
As awful as it sounds, I think a lot of gay men are shallow. If they won't sleep with it, they won't talk to it. It's as simple as that.
