Teasing people may hurt if your teasing them about something that is really important.

I'm the world's worst offender for this, but I only do it to people I like. To me, it's fun. I tease the people I respect, because I know that not only are they strong enough to take, they'll probably give it back just as well as I can give it. It's kind of a battle of the wits thing.
That being said, I have accidentally upset people who didn't realize this about me in the past and I've had to work really hard to be careful to keep my sharp tongue in check. I understand that it can "hurt" people, but only if you do it in a mean way. There's a big difference between saying "that shirt makes you look fat" when you know a person is self conscious about her weight and just poking fun at someone.
I don't understand why people maliciously tease, though...

I tease people but only in fun. Usually they tease me right back. I don't tease anyone who doesn't like it or people that seem hurt by it. There is a difference between fun teasing and mean teasing.

I don't tease people. But in my class, in our case its a little different. We've been together for 8-9 years. So if i get teased by one of them, i don't really mind. But for people outside of this class, i think they tease because they want to get laughs.

I tease my friends in a joking manner. They know that I am kidding and tease back. It's fun.

I would never tease someone in a hurtful manner. However, I think some people are way too sensitive for their own good. i.e. poor mental state!

I don't tease in a hurtful manner. I am laughing with them and not at them. Anyone who knows me......knows that. I think it's crappy when someone teases in a hurtful way.

my b/f teases me all the time i don't really mind tho he knows where to draw the line. I think it depends what someone is teasing you about and the individual

me and my friends,we all got flaws and we tease each other in a friendly manner though,like i tease my friend cuz she fat and she teases me cuz im short and we all tease the other one cuz she skinny...lol sometimes they even tease me cuz of my acne,but its all fun,i dont tease people i dont know cuz that just so mean or people who dont like to be teased.
