Since our immediate family is large, we decided years ago not to exchange gifts. We meet at a lodge (within 1/2 drive for everyone) and hang out for a weekend (one near Christmas and suiting everyone's calendar).

Available at this lodge are hiking trails, an indoor pool, game room, a gift shop and a fire place.

We have great moments doing all these activities together. We eat a few meals there, too and take snacks to share. Having the quality time together is just wonderful. Every year, we make more memories together and continue to reminisce about the past Christmases. It is a very special time for all!

Christmas time is my favorite part of the year. All of my family members get together at my grandmother's house. Everyone opens/exchange their gifts. Then we all sit around and have dinner together. After we eat, we all sit around and joke, laugh, talk, play games, (some drink), dance and just enjoy each others company. I wouldn't miss this opportunity to spend time with my family for the world. When I invite a friend, they always comment on how festive my family is and how they had such a wonderful time!

our family loves to play games, usually games where everyone can get involved, like pictionary, we put two huge sheets of wrapping (meat) paper on walls or on our patio doors and break up into teams even the little ones play, we take regular board games and change the rules where more can play like Balderdash...we play spoons (card game) we also play Bingo and have tons of little cheap gifts they can choose from....we also like to trade crazy gifts, we sometimes say they should only cost $1 and trade names, it is just sort of an extra thing. We sometimes like to get out old photo albums and look at pictures....we love to cook and make cookies and candy with the little ones, very simple things are the most fun. Last year my daughters and daughter in law and I worked on a puzzle off and on in the basement, that was a lot of fun too!!!!

We usually get together. We go to someone house in the family and we eat a dinner. Everyone helps with something as far as setting up goes. We usually pray and get in line to eat. We talk about to each other. Then we watch movies.

Everyone gets together on Christmas Eve and we have dinner at my parents and then we open gifts around the fireplace and sit and chat and relax.
The next morning we go to church, go to visit my hubby's parents and then back to my parents for dinner and games, lots of games, except no one ever wants to play me in Trivial Pursuit and that angers me! Hmmmmmmmmmmm
The month leading up to Christmas I bake tons and tons of cookies and make lots of homemade candy and share with friends and co-worker cause it's fun!
Then, of course, I don't eat for the next month!
