that occurs in normal ovulatory cycles
Bleeding.............that may be normal midcyclic spoting
cramps...............that may be normal midcyclic pain or what is called
mittelschmirtz pain of ovulation
that will be more true if you are now 2-3 years after your menarch because first 16 cycles are anovulatory

if your thinking go in that it is abnormal thing you can read about it in the following site:

there is something called primary dysmenorrhea ( functional abnormal menarche or period ). primary dysmenorrhea is a very general term used to describe this condition and there are a variety of things that could be the cause. such as cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), cervial stenosis ( adhesions of the skin around the opening of the cervix), etc. so to properly treat your condition would be to find the underlying cause and the way to do that is the all favorite, jk, pelvic exam. here are somethings that you can do to help your symptoms in the meantime, before you get checked. first thing, it's going to be ok, taking an anti-inflammatory drug such as motrin, tylenol, or naprosyn, and you can consider using an oral contraceptive. the main trigger for regulating periods is a chemical your body produces which is called estrogen. oral contraceptives help regulate estrogen in the body. but the best thing for you would be to get checked out.

There are plenty of things that could cause this. If pregnancy is a possibility then that should be checked for first. Other causes are more or less likely depending on your age, medications and history. See http://familydoctor.org/470.xml to learn more about abnormal uterine bleeding and see your doctor.
