Hi,
We've just bought a portable DVD player for our grandson who lives in New Caledonia and on the box, it shows "region 4". Someone told me that it might not work overthere, to be international, it should read "region 3".
We've asked the guy in the shop where we bought it but it's like they know better.
What's your advice?
Thanking you.

Search the Internet for the codes to change the DVD to multi region - you will need to enter the make, model & multi region codes - You may have to play around with wording until you find the correct answer

DVD gamers offered contained in the U.S. are area a million. they received't play DVDs for different areas. also, the U.S. and Japan use the NTSC video format, in Europe it really is chum and in France, SECAM. some DVD gamers will transcode from chum to NTSC, you need to envision for that. If all you want to do is play your latest number of DVDs, then the in basic terms difficulty you'll favor is the AC adapter. that could want to wish to be fairly offered at your destination. yet you've complications in looking DVDs distant places which will play on your participant, both for the area code and video format.

It will work with DVDs you buy in your area. If your grandson wants to buy his own DVDs, it probably won't work. But maybe he can exchange it for one in his area? Have him call around different stores and ask if he can exchange an unopened DVD player from out of the region.

If that won't work out for him, maybe you should buy him an electronics store gift card instead, and tell him it's for a DVD player. Good luck!
