Gays can marry because a homosexual dude can marry a lesbian dudette. Two straights can marry if they have opposite sex, but they cannot marry if they have the same sex. Exactly the same goes for homos. Where in the heaven's name is the discrimination?

Homos say that marriage gives them emotional benefits. Let's get serious. Divorces are so easy to come by that only the most naive of children could possibly consider marriage an emotional matter.

It is entirely a financial matter. If same sex marriage is legalized, I would be a fool not to marry some dude; if I dont, I'll be paying out the *** because of the increased taxes that would result from homos who get married.

If we would penalize those who get divorces by forcing them to repay their tax breaks, then maybe gays would have a leg to stand on. But the news media does not tell them that this is a reasonable issue, so it is impossible for anyone to consider it as a reasonable issue.

So forget it!

Absolutely nothing. The current laws banning same-sex marriage are all purely gender-based discrimination.

OUCH! I bet if gay people got a special tax break for being gay the stratight population would take up arms. Marriage offers hetros pleantly of incentive that otherwise homos dont have an opportunity to get. If hetros choose to divorce at the rate that they do then maybe you are right... They should have to pay that tax break back. Ant the sanctity issue is bogus because look, you can turn on the tv and see shows like: "spin the bottle and pick the wife" or "which rich guy can win me over." Taxes caused by letting homos marry are the least of your worry - because allegedly we are an extremely small minority (I know toooo many "down low" straights to be comfortable) & we'll all die off from AIDS anyway, or get lynched.
So your right, we should just roll over and take it up the *ss.

Homosexuals want same sex marriage because they want to have insurance benefits, power of attorney for health decisions and everything else that heterosexual married couples have.

For example, one partner has AIDS and lies near death even as the family continue to ostracize that person for his/her life decision. The other partner has health insurance. If they marry, the AIDS partner will be covered. If the AIDS partner becomes incapacitated, the married partner can make life or death decisions.

Frankly, I think people should no longer marry and civil unions become available to everyone and leave marriage to the religions. I will not judge how anyone else ought to live. However, my question asked of any civilized nation which enacted gay marriage and survived. Just because a few countries do this now - doesn't mean that those governments will last forever....
