Well it's really difficult to break one, but I guess you could if you used another diamond in some way. They aren't indestructible. Diamond facets are filed with a diamond-encrusted sandpaper type belt because it's the only thing that can affect them.

Yes, a diamond can break. It is also suppose to be one of the hardest rocks known. The only way to scratch a diamond is by using another diamond.

Try to crush it with a hammer of steel of 100 Kg, i'm shure you gonna break it. A diamond is hard but not indestructible.

A diamond is one of the hardest stones known, but it can and does break. I've seen chipped diamonds - depends on the pressure points.

Diamonds can shatter spectacularly. Generally the harder a substance is the more brittle it is. Don't take my word for it ask any diamond cutter. One wronf strike and the stone is powder.
Also, heat a diamond to 800 degrees F. and it turns into carbon dioxide.

A Diamond is the hardest gemstone. Perhaps it could break, but it would be extremely difficult.

Diamonds can be chipped and I would imagine that if you put one in a big vice, you could probably crush it.
