Why would you want to marry someone that you have a legal order of protection against? Obviously there is more to this story than is being told. I think it would not be in the best interest to marry that someone right now, at least not before there was some sort of couples counseling done.

Usually when theres an order of protection put between u and someone else the only way the police know about it is if the person that sought after the order calls the police.. but none the less u can either wait till the order is up.. or ask the courts to drop the order, but i think its EXTREMELY STUPID TO MARRY SOMEONE THAT U FEARED ENOUGH TO PUT AN ORDER OF PROTECTION AGAINST IF U THINK MARRIAGE IS GOING TO MAKE IT BETTER UR SADLY MISTAKEN IT WILL ONLY MAKE IT MUCH MUCH MUCH WORSE.. I know from expirence.. fortunate enough for me i only lived with him, i wasnt stupid enough to marry him..

Why would you want to marry someone when there is an order of protection against the two of you? You can marry them but, who ever the order of protection is against can be arrested for violating it.

Well first of all what are your ages. The only way I can think of a protection order could be placed is if one or both of you are minors. In that case its perfectly legal.

Like a restraining order? If that's the case, and it was prior to marriage, I guess the answer would be no....if you can't be within a certain amount of feet of one another, it's pretty hard to get married......and why would you want to anyways if you have a restraining order?!

i agree with miarules. WHY would you want to marry someone that you have order of protection on..... That makes no sense unless you just want to have cops comming to your house in the years to come.

Sounds more like a mental disorder than a legal issue.

hmmm....maybe with all that going on, you shouldn't even be getting married to each other!? Not trying to be funny, but you really shouldn't have all that drama. Gets more difficult after you get married - it doesn't get better!
