My mother worked in Labor and Delivery for 35 years. She told me that it does add to your healing time, and makes it more painful.
The best option is for your husband to have a V-sectomy. It safer, easier to reverse (when needed), and less trauma to the body. For that matter it only requires one day off work.
I am sure your spouse loves you and wants you to have a fast and safe recovery. You just grew a baby in your uterus for nine months and went though major abdominal surgery. The least he can do is go though a minor procedure, that can be done in a doctors office.

It does not hurt any more than if you were just recovering from the C-section only. Good luck dear.
