I haven't read his work in a long long time, so, which latest books would you suggest to me for a new start?

I love Stephen King's books. I've read all his books.

If you're looking for latest books, he's spent most of the last few years writing the last few books for the Dark Tower series. It's a great series, but if you haven't read the first few books in the 7 part series, then I wouldn't recommend going back to the beginning yet. You sound like you want a new start. The first couple books are difficult to get into at first. So you should start out with something easier, more classic King first.

For a good intro back into Stephen King's recent books, I'd recommend Cell (2006) - a story about a strange cell phone event that turns most of the world into zombie-like creatures. It relatively short and is one of those books that grabs you right away instead of taking a long time to get into. Also Everything's Eventual (2002) a collection of 14 short stories. Hearts in Atlantis (1999) is another great book of 4 interconnected novellas (some better than others). If you want to go further back, Desperation (1996) is also a good choice.

The Dark Tower series if you havent read them, Pet Semetary, The Dead Zone (my favorite), Dream Catcher, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, The Shining, The Cell. Also try Dean Koontz. His seem to run along a similar line. Also Carrie is pretty good and Rose Red.

I do, I love his movies/books. The others are good too, but Stephen King has a great mind and is very creative.

I'm not sure what you mean by long time. The easiest
thing would be go to his web site and make a list of the
books since you last read them. You'll be able to find
one. He always has a great sit on the edge story for
you to read. Enjoy, your next one. They are all good.

I absolutely LOVE his books... however, I like his books that were written in the 80's rather than the more recent ones. Call me old fashioned but I think they rocked. If you haven't read the Dark Tower books, you really oughta check it out. Well, I read Cell but didn't like it that much but hey...

Mr. King spins a good yarn.

And by that, I mean the Dark Tower series sucked away much of my life. And I enjoyed every moment. I think my favorite of his (well, Peter Straub too of course) was The Talisman.

it relatively is my well-known of his books. people who actual examine the unconventional would desire to be attentive to, it extremely is better than in basic terms a different some homicidal clown. it extremely is a tale with reference to the city of Derry it extremely is a microcosm of the worldwide and it relatively is evils: homophobia (Andrew Mellon), spousal abuse (Tom and Beverly), infanticide (Georgie), racism (The Black Spot), anti-semitism (Patty Uris), prepared crime (the Bradley Gang). i think of it additionally serves to coach how human beings co-exist with evil universal, and apparently as though no-one seems to notice or care. Who can fail to make certain that the clown is yet a spectator and participant of what substitute into ALREADY happening contained in the city?? Wasn't he there whilst those rednecks threw Andrew Mellon off the bridge, crushed? Wasn't he there whilst the entire city have been given mutually to gun down the Bradley Gang? Or whilst the boys set hearth to the Black Spot? the only shrink back to the unconventional, whether, is that it's going to be examine as area of the darkish Tower sequence, in any different case, the Turtle difficulty and bill Denbrough's "holiday" close to the top look a sprint unexpected and out of place. a minimum of, to me it appeared that way the 1st time I examine it.

I find his writing okay... but I haven't read any recent work. Did you ever read Firestarter? That was an interesting book that they made into a movie.
