Just wondering. But exclude southern states like arkansas, tennesee, Im talking about georgia, florida, alabama, and the carolinas.....

When I travel I noticed that people in the south tend to stare or look too long.....and they don't look away when I notice...I always thought that it was bad manners to stare...

I lived in the south since I was 4 years old.

I am not showing off my T&A...but other southern girls do! Daisy dukes, bare midriffs and bare feet. Im not saying all southerners do...but there is ALOT of trash looking girlys and It makes me feel embarrassed and irk a little because they don't realize the 40 year old hairy man checking out their *** at the aisle of the gas station or WINDIXIEs.

Secondly, it's not just men...it's women too. Unless there are alot of lesbians here (which I doubt, not very tolerant here about that stuff)

Thirdly, everybody tends to stare at everybody else down here. It's can make anybody get paranoid and self-conscience. You don't get any personal space down here.

Just thought that I just add.

Hi. I just posted a question similar to that. That's a problem I encounter whenever I've gone to the South. Apparently Southerners don't teach their children that staring is rude, and they do this as adults.

Probably because you show of all the T&A you can and wonder what we are looking at. From the North you probably have a large roll of dough hanging out in front and tatoos. Nothing to stare at Princess. Why be so self-conscious, or is it self-centered? I forget which with your type.

Don't exclude Tennessee! I live here and people stare all the time, it pisses me off. But I never look away when we lock eyes, cause I'll feel like a pussy if I do. Usually people get pissed off. I dont know, I think men especially think that if you can stare someone down you 'win', i guess. I dont ever try to initiate a stare but if someone stares at me and we lock eyes I'll never look away until they do.

I don't know. Are people not from the south raised to know that generalizations are lazy thinking, and that there are people everywhere who stare, and that there are plenty of people in the south who don't want to look at you at all, much less stare or gawk at you?

If you have lived there a long time you should be used to it. Why get upset now?
