Yes it matters. The tree on this earth produce oxygen. They help clean the air. I don't know what we would do without them. So even if no one hears if fall, it matters.

It does.
Because if no one is around, the tree falling won't produce any sound, as the sound is an interpretation that our brain makes of the vibration of the air.
Well, that's the classical explanation but, maybe what you mean is a different thing. And, in that case, it also matters because trees should not be wasted even if no one is around to SEE it.

Did the tree actually fall?

It certainly does to any creatures who might have been in the tree or who were unfortunate enough to be under the tree when it fell....OUCH!

It depends...what type of tree was it?
How old was 'said' tree?
Did this happen in a National forrest or not?
Did it land on my truck?

If your not there then you don't know so it doesn't matter, however if you are there and it falls on you, then yes it does but nobody will give a matter cause they didn.t know you were there!
..... so my summary will be .... no (unless I was there)
