It seems that a lot of time, money, and effort go into preserving the corpses of loved ones. If "dust to dust" is our motto, then why do we fight decomposition so strongly? The extravagance of funerals in the United States seems ridiculous to me.

I think it's not only extravagant but downright creepy. But you'd be amazed at the pressure put on grieving family members to prove their love for the dearly departed by spending as much money as possible. I want my flowers and such now, and I don't want my body to be violated by people who are trying to make me look alive when I'm not.

some poeple have a deep bond with loved ones that when they died they still won't let go that the body is dead and will decompose so they will do anything to preseve the body becasue it will remind them about the person every time they look at or want to their tombs. it goes back to the ancient times. some will go to distance of buying expeinsve coffens and cloths because that attachment is still there.

i know i agree.it is crazy. people should celebrate a person's life when they are alive. after they pass it should not be about the ceremony it should be about capturing the essence of the person and remembering them for who they were.
