if u weigh 160 then to gain mass u take 160 grams of protien but to add muscle and klook lean i would take in about 130 grams and all that would be used b/c of the work that u are doing but i would recommend that u split ur schedual and do 2-3 muscles a day and workout 5-6 times a week unless u dont have that time then u should stay w/ur original plan

Well, no not all of it becomes muscle. If you eat too much, I think your body has trouble digesting it. And it may be used for energy (they say it's not clean-burning; that is, it requires more energy to digest than carbohydrates and also produces more waste), so that energy can probably end up in storage. I think I heard once that 30 g at each meal is a good standard to follow. A little more could be thrown in for good measure. But you will probably get all sorts of conflicting answers here. Some sites say to eat (daily) like 1 g per pound of body weight, and some say 2 g per pound of body weight, etc. I think every time the information gets copied, it gets rounded up by some enthusiast. The best way to find out is to just experiment a little bit to see what works for you. Asking a real doctor might be a good idea too. Good night!

First of all that's alot of distance running if you want to gain any muscle mass. If you do desire to gain muscle, about 1 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight is ideal. Whey protein in the morning, casein (dairy based) protein before bed, and about any kind in between is preferable. Supplementation is absolutely required to get this ammount of protein, as whole food would cost a fortune and make you fat if you tried to get it all that way. Good luck.
