I heard it's supposed to get down to close to $2.00 before the election. Then it will go back up to $3.00. Who knows if this person was right, but it will be interesting to see. I'm sure the oil companies just thought they didn't need so many billions in profit and they wanted to help out the people who are having financial hardship.

Yes, because it has been said before that there is no shortage of oil here or anywhere else in this world. But since there are close ties between Bush and oil industry, Iraq was a good excuse to raise the gas price at the pump. Gas could sell for $1.00 a gallon and the gas greedy companies would still make money. And since we have an election coming up, gas company executives want the Republicans to look good. But you will never get me to vote Republican. Gas Companies ought to face charges of treason for raising prices and getting rich off the American people because of Iraq.

It always does (unless a hurricane or war keeps prices up). It's after summer travel season and before winter drives up costs for heating oil too much.

Check your history. Gas prices drop about this time EVERY YEAR. The election is not the reason.

I would like someone, anyone tell me how they control the OPEC oil group and the price of raw barrel oil.
It has to do with supply and demand.
Just what does Bush do to make oil price go down, just someone tell us how.

Dems will claim responsibility
Some Reps may claim responsibility
The oil companies are in charge
If they post record profits again in the billions of dollars they may come under scrutiny
