Get out of the city! I moved out of Orlando 2 years ago for St. Pete and I don't regret a moment. There are some gorgeous beaches on the west coast and great restuarants. State Parks are everywhere as well with plenty of hiking trails-never go alone- and plenty of lakes, rivers-buy a kayak and go wherever your heart desires. Go horse back riding through some real Florida trails and woods! I have a horse and it is between those ears I've seen the best of Florida.
My bf and I bought two kayaks and we've taken them all over Florida down rivers and off the beach. Otters, dolphins, manatees and sea turtles are our guides.
Go to St. Augustine and stay at a $12 a night hostel called the Pirate Haus in the middle of the historic city and a few steps from the fort. Go on their Ghost Tour too while you're there and the haunted lighthouse where you can walk to the top for the gorgeous view.
There is so much more to Central Florida than theme parks and bars, however I don't hestitate to enjoy either. ;)
