Yes, you can use the term queer...it used to be offensive...but because it was offensive gay people started calling themselves queers so that the straight community couldn't use it anymore...Your English is very good.

I wish that all the homophobes who insist on answering these questions would either "come out" or all get on a bus to somewhere and never return.
Of course it is OFFENSIVE to call people QUEER - it always has been and always will be.
When will people get on with their own lives and stop judging others - certainly gays are a sizable minority but that does not make them either queer, perverted or whatever the straights want to call us. Strange how we tolerate you without a second thought!

I think it's okay depending on how you use it. Like you could ask some innocently, "Is he queer?" But saying something like, "I'm sick and tired of those queers" is wrong. The F-word is far more offensive, unless you're talking about cigarettes or bundles of twigs.

Queer eye for the straight guy appears to be acceptable as a program name - all depends how you say it I suppose.

To use the term Queer when referring to Gay persons in the UK is quite likely to be regarded as "Politically Incorrect".

I think Shirtlifter is the least offensive description of Poofters, Queers and Homos. Gay is a mismomer as most shirtlifters are a miserable bunch because they never get any enjoyable bonking action with a willing bird.

No!

I really depends on how you use it and who is saying it. It's pretty much the N-word for the gay community.

Queer means odd, so it depends to whom you use it I guess, it doesn't bother me

I don't like it being used - queer means odd, it will only ever mean odd in my eyes and there is nothing odd about being gay, lesbian or bisexual
