I've never seen an informed Republican view on the subject... they always say things like "it's horrible in Canada"... then why does every canadian I talk to like their health care MORE than every American I talk to?
I know many elderly people and some sick people that are very frustrated by the costs of medicine and treatment...
and if you have insurance, you see how expensive it is...
tell you what... go look at how much you're paying for it and how much your company is matching... it's an ASTOUNDING NUMBER EVERY MONTH.... MUCH, MUCH, MUCH MORE THAN I PAY IN TAXES EVERY MONTH... and I don't even get sick...
it seems like Republican views are just uninformed on the issue... and the more they learn, the more they want to change...
how do you get a Republican to change his mind on Universal Health care... just wait until he gets sick and goes into the hospital... that's all it takes...
our current health care is ranked 37th in the WORLD according to the last WHO report that I saw... and it's by far the most expensive...
paying more for an inferior product over all...
the simple fact is... the top 15 percent have the best healthcare in the world... the bottom 85 percent have substandard care for the price, according to world standards...
justify it how you want... if you know someone in medicine, they are probably the richest person you know... making money off of sickness and many die because they can't afford it every day...

There are 600 HMO's in NJ and most have presidents who make over a million a year, and they give money to stockholders! None of this money goes to healthcare, but into somones pocket! The way they get money is to play doctor and deny benefits!
Perhaps we should do like GEICO and eliminate the middle man!

I work in health care. The system we have is badly broken; it really now only delivers quality care to those who can afford it, and know enough about their own health to demand it. Add to that the skyrocketing price of insurance, the huge number of uninsured Americans, and it's a no-brainer.

An average of 2,200,000 Americans each year have always come to Canada for medical care, while an average of only 3100 Canadians each year go to the US for medical care.

How much are you willing to spend for this magical universal health care? That's my question back to you. If you think it is going to be cheap you are sadly sadly sadly mistaken. You will be better off buying your own health insurance.

The people that have it also hate it. Check out how many Canadians come here for their health care.
Universal Health Care----TOTAL FAILURE.
By the way, it's not free. Working people pay for it with gobs of taxes.
