What is it you don't understand about the Salem witch trials? People were accused of being witches. They were tried using various methods, like tieing a cinder block around their stomachs; if they floated, they were considered witches and were then executed. If they sunk, they were innocent, but they died anyways. It finally ended when someone's wife was accused of being a witch, and her husband was very high up in the court system.

The salem witch trials were not only held in Mass. They were held in Va also. Not alot of people know that. Also do not think this is hard. It is very interesting. Go to salemwitchtrials.com and get more info if you want. I can tell you a few things about it. This is something I love to read about. You should take the time to. Anyway, one thing you could talk about is the way they tested the accused. They would tie their legs and arms up and put a big heavy rock attatched to the rope and throw them into the water. Then if they survived they found to be witches and if they died they found innocent. So, either way you died because if you survivied some how you were burned at the stake. Also, If they were found innocent they were horribly tortured into saying the were guilty. Anyway, just check out this website and I hope this helps. You should have fun with this report-trust me there are much more boring things to study. For instance, I am studying about Jamestown... Good luck!

In December 1861 eight girls who lived in or near Salem village were afflicted with "distempers", which called for medical attention. Physicians however could find no cause for their disorderly speech, strange postures, and gestures, and convulsive fits. One of the girls was the daughter of the minister,Samuel Parris, another, his niece. A neighbor took it upon herself to have Parris's Barbados slave to determine if it was witchcraft. She concocted a witch cake of rye meal and the urine of the afflicted, this was fed to a dog.
The girls accused the slave and two other elderly women of witchcraft, and the women were taken into custody.
accusations began to fly, from other residents of the village. The jails of Salem, surrounding towns and even Boston began filling up with prisoners.
By the end of September nineteen people had been sent to the gallows, and one man had been pressed to death.
The onvictions were all obtained by spectral evidence, an apparition had appeared to the accuser, and the test touch, the accuser had stopped having fits.
the afflicted girls were present at the trials, and often disturbed the poceedings with their fits.
In january 1693 a superior court convened and recieved fifty new indictments, it tried twenty, aquited 17, condemned three, who were not executed.
In may 1693, govenor Phipps ordered a general reprieve, about 150 suspected witches were released, ending the strange episode.
There is some speculation that the afflicted were suffering from ergot poisoning.
A parasitic fungus that grows on cereal grains, mainly rye, crawling sensations on the skin, vetigo, headaches, hallucinations, delirium and mood changes , to name a few.

Well since it seems people on here are just being rude, I'll try to help.
Since it's only a page report, try focusing on how it started, pinpoint a few examples in it's heyday and then close with the aftermath. That should be good enough for one page. These are just a few sites I found. Type in Salem Witchcraft Trials in any search engine and you'll get all kinds of results. Just beware of those that aren't factual.
