i know its crazy.but really do they literally have to use their mouths?also sense whales are mammals and breath air do they drink?

Yes. Most fish do drink plenty of water, some continuously. Some fish absorb water through their skin and/or gills through the process of osmosis, and may excrete water that way, too.Check out this site:http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/dec96/847855291.Zo.r.html

Freshwater fish drink through their gills whereas ocean fish use their mouths to drink.

They absorb some water through the gills I think

yes i thin they do, because my goldfish, i have 2 by the way, i see them going up to the top of the tank and opening the mouths to drink water.
