Hi. No, Americans don't hate people from Turkey. You are very welcome to come here and I am sorry if some people made you feel bad. This is a public forum and so you will read many views, some mature and some isolated by ignorance or a need for attention.

I'm American and have no problem with Turkish people. I have a problem with Islam as an entity, but not the individual people. Most Americans would be receptive of Arabs, Turks, etc.
Generally, with some exceptions of course, Americans are very welcoming in contrast to their portrayal by Middle Eastern regimes.

You are talking about some Americans. Do all Turkish people smoke hash? No, I think not. Don't assume that just because some Americans are prejudicial that ALL of us are.
I will say that I think Muslims are beyond the scope of most of our understanding. We can not, as a culture, grasp the concept of scarifying your children to die and live with a bunch of virgins. The idea of marter-ism is too bizzar for us But, again this addresses just some fanatical Muslims.

i didn't even know america had turkish people until about 2 years ago i met a guy in my laundromatt that was from turkey. he was a very smart good looking guy. i also met a cute girl who has some issues that was dating a guy from turkey that was working on a cure for AIDS. She loved turkey food. My best friend has a good friend that is from Pakistan, but from what i heard pakistan and turkey don't get along. I have not met any americans that say they hate turkish people but then again im a half asian half white living in america that is pretty much antisocial. i would not concern yourself with what people like or dont like. the true method of understanding people is understanding yourself.

Americans do not trust Muslims in general, but I have not personally experienced Americans being inhospitable to an individual person. There are doubtlessly examples of this, but none that I have witnessed.
Not sure why, but for myself, I don't lump Turks into the same category that I consider of other Muslim nations. Probably because I can not recall any Turks ever having been traced to the inhumanity perpetrated by it's neighbors.

A lot of the World don't like Turkey, but I wasn't aware Americans had a particular peeve with them
We have airbases there.
We have trade with them.
The Ottman Turks, however, are not well liked by Armeians and many in the Middle East, despite being Muslims.
They are nasty mulims to a lot of people in IRaq, Iran, Egypt, Syria, because the Ottoman Turks ruled that area until about 1900.
I have a friend teaching in Istambul and he was told to go home and take a vaction in a specific week, because in that week, like Hiroshima Day in Japan, they don't want to see Americans or Westerners of any type.
Now, does that answer your question.
Has America ever told anyone, why don't you take a vaction to your native land next week, it's the start of July and we only want Real Americans here on that day!

we really don't care either way, for the most part. There are some fearful people in this country that probably have a problem with Islam right now, but many of us are too busy trying to live our lives. I don't think Americans think one way or another about Turkish folks - half of us probably don't even know that it's a country. We welcome everyone, as long as you have something to offer.

I don't like the religion of Islam. I believe it teaches a false god, a false prophet and a false Christ. I don't mind Muslims just so they are not trying to bomb things and blow up people. Anyone is welcome in America who respects the country while they visit.
When it comes to Turkey, I've been there. I visited Ephesus and thought it one of the most splendid places I've seen.

Some americans may, some may not. There are 300 million of us, which ones are you referring to, or are you just stereotyping? Most of those 300 million don't have a clue where Turkey is, or what it is about-hell they barely can find florida on a map.

As a American I can say I do not trust muslims, simply because I truly believe they would make us extinct if they could. Its hard to like somebody who already hates you.
