I speak several languages, so I have some movies without subtitles. I own 84 Chinese movies and 45 Japanese films on DVD or VHS. I have a special DVD player. The usual USA one plays only Region 1 NTSC format, but Hong Kong is in Region 3, Japan is in Region 2 and Red China is in Region 6. Some European movies use PAL, not NTSC. My player will play any DVD on earth. I also like French films, e.g. "Jeanne de Florette' and its sequel "Manon of the Spring". I have some Spanish and German movies too. I've rented movies from several other countries.

I love foreign movies... Also discovered that by watching a subtitled movie as opposed to it being dubbed into english that the context of the story can make a lot more sense... High up on my foreign movies would be La Belle et La Bette, Man Bites Dog and anime classic Akira...

I like fims if they're good, it doesn't matter whether they're foreign-language or not. I've seen some amazing foreign language films and some really **** ones. The best I've seen are Battle Royale, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Life Is Beautiful, and my absolute favourite Run Lola Run.

Yeah - French films like 37.2 degrees (Betty Blue), Jean de Florette, Manon des Sources are better than Hollywood. With subtitles, there are some great Dutch and Turkish films, for example. "Downfall", the German film about the last days of Hitler, was brilliant.

Depends on the storyline i guess! It's like star wars would still be good if they choose to speak in foreign all the way through. It would annoy those ignorant twats who depend 'english' only and i don't do subtitles unless it's for a few seconds.

All depends on story, look at Oldboy, in the mood for love, Amelie, Downfall. All foreign all superior to most holywood films :)

If you love foreign films, you HAVE to see "Delicatessen." It was out during the early 1990s and it was a riot! It was in French, and it was about this "height-challenged" guy from the circus who ends up in this apartment building with these cannibals in a horribly gone wrong society, and he falls in love with the vegetarian daughter, and there are troglodytes involved in fighting with the cannibals - you just gotta see it.

As a group, non-English-language films are much more interesting. The English language films are churned out en masse according to a formula.
