I'm renting an apartment that has low quality white flooring in the kitchen. It very easily gets dirty and shows every speck. Regular floor cleaners don't make much impact, but comet works well. However if I used comet, no matter how many times I rinse it afterwards the floor still feels gritty. Any suggestions?

Try Quick Shine, we use it on our customer's floors it works great and no residue. Cost about $6 a bottle and can be purchased at any super Wal-Mart near you.

You can use one cup of ammonia to one gallon of water. It will help strip some the old wax . Be careful of the fumes and make sure the area is well ventilated. After you get the floor stripped to the white apply a good acrylic wax. Armstrong used to sell a wax that came in a red can(cant remember its name) Or a janitor suppily has industrial liquid wax that is pretty good.

I use EcoH. Couldn't believe how white our floors became. All the black grime comes off. Non-toxic, no fumes, so a lot easier than ammonia. Can't buy it in the stores, but I can give you a phone number where you can order it, off line, don't want to call the wrath of the moderators upon me :)

You can also use bleach as long as it is dituled. It will not hurt the flooring. Comet is to harsh on that and I don't even use comet on sinks anymore because of the harshness of it.

I pre-treat my floor with windex or something comparable. Spray it on the thicker side, let it sit on there for about five minutes and it gets into all the little dents, grooves etc..... Try it and see if you like it.
