I have a problem with my keyless entry/car alarm system. I have the system that locks the car automatically after 10 seconds. And if i don't open the car with the Remote and use the Key, the system ticks and ticks, usually until i find the remote and click it. But now the remote does nothing and the car ticks all the time until the battery dies. Or until i remove the system. :( PLEASE HELP!!!

i tried reseting it but it still ticks and the car clock dims/gets bright in sync with the ticking. It used to do that if i use the key to get in the car until i press the remote once. but now the remote doesnt work. but the battery is fine. could the unit have an error or is it broken? i hope not..... the unit is called: Thunder AT-2000

I had a similar problem. I had to remove the battery to keep the alarm from going off constantly. They told me I had to get a new remote. The contact for the alarm was permanately depressed. I had a guy soulder a new one in, but it did the same thing a week later. It's not the battery. You'll probably have to replace your keyless entry remote.

Try a new remote battery first. Then it might be the unit itself. A poor ground on an alarm installation can also cause a ticking.

Sounds like if you leave your keys in the car for more that 10 second your locked out! Bad thing to have. But for now try replacing the battery in your remote. You may have worn it out since you have to use it all the time because your car locks automatically.

You can take out the fuse and/or disconnect the negative on your battery, it will reset your alarm. I have the same thing with my eclipse, but I have the Viper alarm. Encountered one problem with my alarm, and I reset it by doing what I said to you. Buy a battery for the remote. It takes the round little circle like batteries you can find anywhere. Goodluck.

put the alarm on valet mode.
usually done by turning the key to the on position then moving the alarm toggle switch, that is usually hidden, untill the red light for the alarm stays lit steady without blinking., really depends on what type of system it is

Battery for clicker, may need a new chip for keyless entry.
