It's not so much the lens wearing out as much as the glazing becoming worn down e.g. through scratches because of cleaning. Advisable to get an eye test anyhow but have a word with your optician to see if it's worth reglazing. The odds are is that it is going to be just as cost effective to buy a new pair.

I've had mine for about four years now and will soon be replacing them. The anti reflective coating has worn away where I sweat at the top. There are scratches from cleaning them but the main reason I am replacing them is because after four years of daily use the frames are wearing out. Nothing lasts for ever.

So cute!
