This is a great question. There are many things that contribute to high blood pressure. The 2 most common ones that you can take some control over are smoking and obesity. Other factors out of your control like age, gender, family history and genetics can also contribute. High blood pressure in itself usually causes no symptoms. Getting older - even as young as 45 can cause high blood pressure. There are no symptoms, which is why it is so dangerous. Take you blood pressure at one of those drug store free machines. If it is over 140, see a doctor for some medication.

My wife overdrawing the checking account causes my high blood pressure. The symptoms are: I check the account balance and find that its in the red, I start breathing heavy and cussing, I yell at my wife, she yells back, I drink a six pack of beer and calm down, repeat cycle next month.

being over weight ,,doing too much ,,strainning ,,,blocked arteries,,general bad health,,
it can make you feel very tired .light headed,,,heavy,,,red faced ,,,short of breath,,,arms and legs can ache,,,head aches,,,swollen fingers or ankles,,,bad circulation,,
