Some cats are very devoted to their owners, and some cats can seem completely alof and moody, as if tollerating your presence until it is annoyed and scurries off or takes a swing with its claws or nips you.

I've had a couple cats that at first were very sweet, but for some reason I never learned why, they just went bad. One simply tore out the screen on a window and ran away.

The Mao Edge,... yes dear I'm aware that in some other cultures, cats are a delicacy.

Not just the chinese, but also filipinos, koreans, and vietmese among others.
In fact when I was a teenie bopper, and hung out with my friends there was this one time we were hangin out, and smoking grass, well you know that pot gives most people the munchies in a bad way. Well, at the time, my friends grandmother was also visiting, and we happened to wander into the kitchen looking for something to snack on. There was this wonderful smell, and she served us what appeared to be Adobo, it wasn't pork that was for sure, until one of us got a leg, and it was too small for it to be beef, and the pads/toes weren't that of a dog either. At the time we just laughed cause we were all pretty stoned.
Later, after most of us sobered up, we realized some of the cats were missing, including my friends favorite.
It wasn't bad, though we didn't feel so good when we found out that granny had harvested them.

We were careful later to stock up on junk food, and tried to stay out of the kitchen when her relatives from the old country came visiting.

I have three cats who are my best little friends, no I would never consider having them "prepared" for supper.
I would be wrong coz I love them so much. I also know they love me. They follow me around like little ducklings follow the mama duck, which is hillarious to my neighbors when they see me going out for the paper or the mail, or taking out the garbage.

My cats are VERY lovey. They give me a kiss by licking my lips when I ask them too. They snuggle with me, they come up to me and beg to be picked up. I think it's all in how you treat them. If you treat them well, they will treat you the same back.

My two kitties (brother and sister) love the sound of a can of food being opened especially when it's what I call "people tuna" (still fish but not specifically cat food).
Sometimes the female brings me pieces of cellophane paper (usually from cigarette packages) that she finds outside and deposits on the welcome mat outside the back door. Should I take that as a sign of love or is she simply trying to butter me up in the hope of getting more "people tuna"?

According to laws in most places the petowner owns the pet and is RESPONSIBLE for the pet.

No getting around it.......you have a pet including a cat you own it and are responsible for it. Cats may be tempermental and picky but they don't own anything or anybody. They can't even feed and water themselves let alone be responsible for a person who is dumb enough to let a Cat think the cat owns them.

I personally don't like cats. I think they are selfish creatures uncapable of loving as we know it. They show affection because they either want something from you (like food) or show that you are the leader of the pack and they are subordinate to you.

Want a true friend? Get a dog!

I have one cat that I know loves me, but my other cat will be sweet and cuddly one minute, then it's like he goes crazy and jumps on you the next. I always thought he was just schizophrenic or something.

I think our cats think they own us but I know they would never leave us. If they got lost outside, they would be heartbroken. They cuddle with me when i'm sick or when I feel like crying:) So much better than a dog:)

I have a broiler pan you can borrow if you would like. Do it right and cats can not only be sweet but also sour.

I think she is just getting used to the idea that I'm hers. She doesn't love me, but she is dependent on me and shows her appreciation for what I give her, don't you, Sophie sweetheart?
