How do you know if you have an ulcer? Why do we get them?
If you have taken Zantac and still have the acid reflux. This has gone on for months. The Zantac helps but as soon as you don't take them it comes back.
If you do have one, what can happen if it is not checked? What is the worst senario? What does the doctor do to get rid of it?

My diet is good and I don't eat acid foods.
The pain I suppose would be the acid burning pain not the same as an ache of course but very uncomfortable.

I would advise you to see your Physician and get his/her referral to a Specialist. Do not let it go without treatment.

First of all - do you have pain? Have you already seen a doctor for this? It has been proven that some, in fact most cases, ulcers are caused by an infection, and there is a combination of an acid suppressor with an antibiotic that will heal it. But you must get this from a doctor, because they are situation specific.

My friend had a stomach ulcer and her doctor told her to change her diet. She stopped eating many acidic foods, soda, alcohol and so on, and her ulcer cleared. She still avoids those foods as to not have the ulcer reoccur. You should see a doctor to make sure you have one.

I advise you to consult a gastroenterologist.
If you do have an ulcer and it is left alone for a long time, the ulcer might progress into a perforation.
