For a scatter plot you need TWO measured variables. For example, weight and height of each of your classmates. For each person, plot a point corresponding to their weight on one axis and their height on the other. What do you see? Do taller people tend to be heavier? Not necessarily. Does the weight of taller people vary more than, less than, or about the same as, the weight of shorter people? Good luck.

Any data taken in a scientific experiment would make a good scatter plot as the errors present will cause the data to not fall on a straight line.
