Plant and animals are similar in a few ways but very different in others. Three of the many differences between the two are that plant cells have a thick cell wall while animals have only a thin membrane. Another difference is that plants have chloroplast and animal cells do not. Chloroplast is a green oval in plant cells usually containing the green pigment chlorophyll. One more difference is that lysosome is very common in animalís cells and quite uncommon in plant cells. Lysosome breaks down food molecules and digests old cell parts. There are also quite a few similarities between plant and animal cells. One is that both types of cells have a nucleus that controls the cellís activities. Another thing they have in common is that both contain cytoplasm, which is a jellylike substance that fills space between the membrane and nucleus. The third similarity is that both types of cells have mitochondrions that break down sugars and convert them to energy. Those are three of the similarities and differences between plant and animal cells.

Plant Cells
1.surrounded by a cell wall made of cellulose
2.Cellwall not living
3.the only thing the cell wall does is to allow high vapour pressures to build up inside them because of osmosis
4.when put in distilled water they swell up,do not burst
Animal Cells
1.Do not have cell walls
2.if one of the animal cells is put in distilled water it will swell and burst
