It is convenient for them - more so than raising the child they created. The Leftist indoctrination is that unborn children are not 'human lives' therefore one has the 'right to privacy' to kill them. Those without a strong parental nature/morals/ethic figure that sex without responsibility is more desirable than leading a responsible life - so they've concocted their peculiar, unscientific line of reasoning to justify killing their offspring.
As humans have their higher ethics stripped away by Leftist manipulators, they become more animalistic, seeking their own pleasures and gratifications without responsibility. It makes them into easily managed cattle.
Honestly, folks, you will find a great difference in the abortion rate between devout Christians and devout Leftists. The cause is the ideological foundation.
I am quite moved by hypnotic regression sessions in which people recall their experiences in the womb...

Not all liberals are pro-abortion. Under Clinton, the rate of abortion actually declined, while under Bush, it is increasing. Why? Feelings of security, both financial and personal.
Don't assume that only liberals are doing it, and don't assume they are doing it because they failed to use birth control. I have a hard time believing ANY woman would say "I think I'll get an abortion" without thinking long and hard about it first.
The current US abortion rate is 21.3/1000 (it was 19.4 under Clinton). The current abortion rate in Holland is 6.5/1000. Holland has a strong social "safety-net" and support system. The US system is sorely lacking.
I am, as I've said, anti-abortion. But I refuse to revert to the days of back-alleys and coat hangers. Proper education and compassion are a better way to deal with the problem.
Conservatives tend to be against sex-education that isn't abstinence-only, against RU486, against social programs to help new mothers, against easy access to contraception, etc. And you wonder why abortion rates are climbing...

What an ignorant question. You clearly don't know anything about liberalism. Liberals believe in educating people and making your own free choices with your eyes wide open. I'm a liberal and if my girlfriend got pregnant, I wouldn't want her to abort, but that's not likely to happen because I use condoms and we avoid having sex during her fertile period. I don't like abortion, but I don't think it should be illegal. First because if it were illegal, it would only be driven underground and second it's a woman's body, it's her choice, whether I agree with it or not.

Answerman is correct. Conservatives also have abortions. They just try not to let the Jones's know. Because on sunday they have to run stop sign's to get to church so the Jones's see them there and not know that they are really just hypocrits.
