i might add to the above the civil war did not start because of slavery . it began due to the northern government deciding that the south could'nt both produce & sell their products. the northern government wanted southerners to ship their products to the north then they could resell them at a profit over & above what the south would get through price fixing.. the war of northern aggression was;nt about slavery until they had to find a method to reduce desertion in the northern forces & repopularize the war. thats when slavery became an issue. slavery was actually headed toward ending prior to the war beginning in fact. due to the fact many were being freed upon the death of their owners & due to others buying their freedom for them. slaves were'nt treated as poorly as some have said . can you imagine paying 15000. in that times money for a slave then beating him to death , very unlikely except in the most extreme cases. many of the slaves were well treated & almost considered family in many places . another point it was only in the richest of familys that slaves could be owned due to their high cost etc. you can't say that the average family owned slaves because few did. during the war of northern aggeression the north burned down raped n pillaged indiscriminately. attacked familys who'd never owned a slave & never cared to they took the last morsel of food out of many childrens mouths . if you don't believe me look at what happened when northern men was foraging through south arkansas . in one instance not even leaveing a woman clothes to cover herself. i reckon at poison springs they was showed then they were ran back to little rock. . since the war of northern aggression the north has pretty much kept the south beaten down. carpet baggers & others came here stealing honest familys homes & started property taxes which should be banned how can you own property then someone be able to take it from you for the tax bill . thats not owning nothing at all. thats paying a bribe so you can use the land thats all. lets get real in america over that question. if another man can own the mineral rights to your land then take away from your land . do you really think you own anything. truth is you don't . due to property taxes etc. government was originally designed to be small so it did'nt infringe on rights of the people . good god look at it now. a man can't even defend himself without paying a bribe to the government. concealed carry permit. lets get some sense back in government & society. lets stand up for the united states of america & the way it should remain. free for all & all being allowed to own land & seek their dream whatever that is as long as they act with honor & the principle of doing the other man right. get lawyers out of congress & stop them from twisting the truth around every which way. there are people who are just born bad. it's called the bad seed theory. every crimminal makes a choice to be a crimminal . it's a choice an avocation . not haveing been forced on them like the high faluting professors & doctors say.. they say capital punishments not a deterrent to crime they are wrong noones gonna come back from the grave that has been put to death & victimize anyone else. it sure is a deterrent. there has been some good men driven to go outlaw due to pressure of a certain single situation . these matters should be looked at one by one based upon their own merits . but when a person chooses to live the crimminal life they should be dealt with.in whatever manner straighten them out.

Lets start with before the civil war! States each had unfettered rights to write their own constitution and govern their own people- they also had the right to refuse to accept any decision of the federal government.
Do to the chicanery of lawyers and bankers an amendment was in the process of being passed to prevent anyone beholden to anyone other than their constituency from holding public office. This amendment passed but was never enacted as Virginia (the last state to ratify) succeeded from the union before it was delivered to congress!
A political party that had many of its members accused of treason for aiding England during the war of 1812 resurrected as the Republican Nationals in the election of 1856. This party was so named in order to steal votes from the popular Rupublican Democrat party. In only one state was the citizenry confused enough by this to change the outcome of the elections.
