O.k. You have either got warped rotors or it is possible they have hard spots on them caused by heat. Most times they can be turned to correct the problem. The rotors are marked at the factory as to the safe thickness that they can be turned to.A pro. will know this and advise you as to whether you need to replace them or not.Your brake pads will come off when this is done and at that time you will be advised as to the wear on them and whether or not they also need to be replaced.Never under any circumstance do you lubricate the rotors. The bearings, yes The rotors ,no.Typical cost to turn the rotors will be around 25 to 30 bucks.

The brake rotors are warped. I had a Taurus and it did the same thing all the time I had it. You at very least need the rotors turned. If the rotors have already been turned once or twice you will probably need new rotors. The cost isn't too bad though.

Your brakes are warped. If the steering wheel is shaking its the front rotors, if you feel it in the seat its the rear brakes. You need the offending members machined or replaced along with new pads or shoes.

you probable understand that the front wheels ought to continually lock merely formerly the rears. From the producing unit, the proportioning (knee valve) is desperate so as that the rears won't in any respect lock up first. it is for mfr. legal accountability motives. so which you wisely guessed that there is something incorrect right here. examine for a rusted out rear proportioning unit. Or much less probable, a collapsed rubber brake line.

If you have ABS then it could be that...

I think that with ABS your car will only shake if you apply the brakes hard (not really sure)...

If your rotors are warped it will cause your car to shake during braking.. and sometimes you will hear your brakes scraping (scrape... pause...scrape... pause... scrape) as your first start to go in the morning (after sitting all night).

It probably has warped rotors, which is what the brake pads push against to stop the car.

your brake rotors need to be turned or replaced. They get warped over time and that is what causes the vibration or it could just be your ABS system. Either way it should be checked out
