gorecki works really well, it builds up into a crescendo then fades away, like a summer sunset.

"The Shadow of your smile" by one of the late, great
singers,, my husband died shortly after seeing a
sunset you describe... to the above music....
Thanks for reminding me of that , in the nicest way !!!

You know, your question is a great example of the wonderful simple things that (almost) all of us take for granted. The only time I see a beautiful sunset is when i happen to be driving and see the sun on the horizon.

It cost nothing. It is amazing to watch for i guess 30 mins or so as well. I will start to look at the Sun setting when I can - instead of just watching telly. I will also start to think about the music that best accompanies the experience too!

Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" the entire album all timed to peaking at the best part of the sunset. It's also excellent for sunrise. In fact, if you're out in a canyon and leave it playing on the car stereo and don't feel like climbing back to change it, it's good all night too!

Lamb's Gorecki is in my opinion one of the most beautiful haunting songs of all time....
I get goosebumps whenever I hear it!!!

If I should die this very moment
I wouldn't fear
For I've never known completeness, like being here
Wrapped in the warmth of you
Loving every breath of you
Be still my heart this moment
For it might burst.....

BREATHTAKING!!!!!!

I can recommend a whole CD - "Songs of the Distant Earth" by Mike Oldfield - in my opinion the best compiled CD I know. And I am a classical musician!

Probably Belfast by Orbital for the same reason - it builds up in different layers and then it sort of washes away and goes all squelchy.

or another good one is Find the River by REM - you can pretend it's the sun talking!

"So Sick" by Ne-Yo. Love songs are always good songs to listen to by a sunset........or driving down the street with the sun going down. My song choices change too. Depending on my mood.

Not a song, a piece of music. Chi Mai. Or a close second is Barbers adaggio for strings.

I prefer the silence, so I can hear the splash and sizzle when the sun hits the water.
