I cover AND hover. My mom used to tell me that the crabs on public toilets could jump 20 feet. They are lucky I don't just open the door, look at the toilet and pee on the floor!

I dont want to touch the seat. That's just nasty. I don't know where everyone else's butt been and even when you sit on a paper it tears and the other person's pee soaks through and touches you. I trust the hover approach better. I do that when I go over other people's house and in public bathrooms. I just don't trust anybody. The only seat I am sitting on is my own.

Cover when possible, hover if not.
Or preferably wait until I get home. . .but the older I get, the less that one happens! ;-)

I do both depending on the condition of the toilet seat and how bad I have to go.
