As long as you wash them with a good detergent and bleach you should be perfectly fine.

Tide and Chlorox are what we use and not a single one of my white shirts looks dingy.

Yes - I've been doing it for years. The key is to use a good bleach so all your whites come out sparkling clean and white. Bleach also sanitizes your whites, and since most underwear is white, bleach is just the thing to get rid of stains. Many products will claim they work as well as bleach, but the only one that I've found that comes close is Oxyclean, but with Oxyclean you have to soak the clothing or scrub a paste made out of it into the stains. Bleach is easier.

Be sure to follow directions on the bleach container though because if you use too much bleach in a load your white clothes won't smell good and it can actually cause your white clothes to slightly yellow. Also, it is very dangerous stuff so be sure to store it up high out of reach of children to avoid poisoning. If the bleach smell in your clothes is too strong, put them through an extra rinse cycle.

I put all my clothes (everything from my underwear to my kid's bluejeans to dish-towels) all together in one giant washer. It all gets clean.

When I see people spraying stuff on their clothes and separating the items and folding them up when they come out of the dryer, I just shake my head and smile. I got better stuff to do!

White is white, unless the socks are nasty dirty. If so, pre-soak them before washing.

Yes, just add bleach to the load in the hole in the side of the washer.
