Like history and God. There have been many Gods and Goddess's throughout history, one is considered wrong and another is considered right, then voila, something in history changes and another concept is considered the right one. History is based upon who won the war. Do you ever think 'maybe' you are only repeating a myth?

there are very few myths only the hero's change.Whats wrong with myths? they attempt to describe what human language cannot describe.
Read a book by Joseph Campbell called the hero with a thousand faces its very very good.
I don't believe everything I'm told. the hardware (our Brains) is the same the software (our culture) changes but every new piece of software has to touch the hardware. so all the software is basically the same if you really look close only the names change.
I believe the truth that is common in every one love thy neighbor.

When you cut out the cultural references every one of them is the same.
people need myths people need gurus people need each other an humans tell stories. There best, when they are told and interpreted spiritually to the heart of man. When there just told as history they go to the intellect they don't feed the soul. Intellect is great for building bridges but needs to be secondary when building people.
Myths have to change if they no longer touch the hearts of man someone has to come along and make a new one. Look at our world the problem people have with relgion is that it is history and when its history you get war. Look at the middle east three tribes all with the same god all from the same tribe figthting becaues there myths have become stagnent
this is what Krishna does in hinduism
Jesus does it
Budda does it they come to say that things are old we need to speak to the heart again.,
the new myth is in the works and people are looking I think it has to have one human tribe with many faces taking care of our garden our mother earth and that I think will draw all the myths together. My church is going to sort through our garbage tomorrow to see what we can do for our ALL of our planet. I think every tribe (Religion)can work together we now have a common cause that will drive home the fact that we all are brothers and sisters.

no, history is mistaken over and over again, relying on what we can dig up today, and how long people can remember while they live... all i have to say for god is that assuming there is a god/ or gods and goddesses, that they/he/she didn't get the same/right memo out any of the time they tried... i don't think that i'm repeating a myth, but the world we live in, i believe, is based on myths, because the way everyone lives there life is based on religion and how strictly they follow their religion, and i don't believe that all religions are right because then almost every religion would be wrong.

It seems to me that you are seeking the truth.

The truth is not what you make of it, or someone else does, or the latest "expert" decides it is. That is why people are so confused. It is something very precise and steadfast. It is what everything else, laws included, are derived from. If you do not grasp truth, you grasp nothing; you don't get it. You have no foundation from which to form your beliefs and base your decisions.

Even Plato had trouble with this one, and never answered the question fully to hiw own satisfaction.

To define and answer this question "What is truth?" and to define purpose and meaning, read the "Essay" from the links below, then read "Finding Truth."

Not everything. I have to consider the source of my information and then make a judgment about what I've been told. If someone tells me the ball scores, I generally believe them because my past experience tells me that they are nearly always correct. If someone tells me some gossip, I might believe it depending on the circumstances. And if someone tells me I've won a prize and ask for money to have it sent to me, I don't believe it at all!

I'm going to make the assumption that you have a mind of your own. Are you able to input information and then discern the pertinent facts as they pertain to your own life. Your mind has to be a filter and sift the wheat from the chaff. Most newspapers dessimate chaff with a few puffets of fact. Most celebrities dessimate chaff. Believe what you tell yourself after you have deducted logically the heart of the matter.

i am incapable of not spouting cliche's from the past one after another. It is a hopeless situation. Some of the cliche's i spout are six month's old, some are 1000 years old.

What to say?????

blah blah blah. Great question.

And, i do believe almost everything i am told or that i read. At least for a short time.
