Set you're self up at a Open Mic night and hope someone is their to discover.

wright to all the major record companies, try and get a demo tape with someone who can sing good to sing you're songs to show them how you're song sounds. it is not easy and don't give up just keep sending things until something works.

Make sure if you send a song in have a copyright on it so they do not steel it and you don't get payed.

((= GOOD LUCK =))

OK....here's the truth. No record company, radio station, or any other organisation in the music industry will touch original material unless it goes through your lawyer. They call this unsolicited material, and they don't touch it in case one of their current artists produces something similar and you then sue them (used to happen a lot). So you need a lawyer just to get anyone to listen. If you send them anything without it going through your lawyer they will bin it, and if you mail them anything they will delete it without listening. You can get a Lawyer, but even then it's very very tough to get them to listen. They usually only want artists they have went after.....so make them come to you. Get a good (pro quality and not on the PC) demo made. Then you have to copyright it, so post it to yourself by recorded delivery and don't open it, then give it to your lawyer to keep, so you have a record of when you wrote it. Build a website, or open a myspace account and use that to advertise and promote your material. Put MP3s on your site for free download!!. Gig Gig Gig. Hand out free demos at you gigs (and other peoples). Send your demo to everyone you know and ask them to send it to everyone they know. You just have to create a buzz about your material, then the record companies will look for you, and if they do.....let your lawyer deal with them.

Boosey & Hawkes music publishers could help.
Visit http://www.maxopus.com/publish/boosey.htm addressing your request by e-mail to the promotions dept. If you want to hire performing material send e-mail to the Hire Library.

You have to get signed to a publishing label. You do that by gigging alot & refining your sound. Don't walk into it thinking you'll be picked up straight away. You have to fight for it. Good luck.
