thanks all for the answers, I lost the bet, 'cause I was think its 52 states, and my friend said its 50, so till now I lost, anyways thanks for the answers, and keep goin, theres no one think its 52? maybe they going to add Afghanstan and iraq, anything could happen LOL.

There is 50 states.Orignally there were 13 states,but we kept expandind.More and more states began to enter the Union.Finally we reached 50 states and that is where we remain today.Hope this will help you.
