I know every baby is different, but when (approximately) can I expect to see her first smile? When did your baby smile for the first time?

Not that this matters, but she's only 9 days old....I don't expect her to smile any time soon...I'm just wondering when she is likely to smile.

My twins smiled first at 1 week, my daughter at 3 days. And, yes it usually is gas until a month or so.

Some babies smile as early as a few weeks old... like you said, it just depends on the baby!

Usually babies begin smiling in their sleep, and then once they reach 1 or 2 months old, they'll smile at you while awake. My son smiled at 1 month old. The website below has milestones and ages...hope it helps.

Your baby can smile so many times by herself from birth till about three months but after three months (in most of the cases) he/she smiles in response of your intentions.

A real smile is in the second to third month. anything before that is gas. When they get gas, they look like they have a smile on their face.

about 6 weeks- nothing to do with the babys nature or happiness, they lack the muscle control to do it earlier.
