This year it's Freddy Sanchez - what he's doing this year is unprecedented in the modern history of baseball..Hitting .340 and playing great defense at 2B, SS and 3B his 3.40RF at 3B leads the NL, 5.06RF at SS would rank among the leaders and 4.78 at 2B also very good, and Sanchez only has 10 errors on the year...

Travis Hafner. He is leading the AL in all the important sabermetric categories (EqA, VORP, etc., and if you don't know what these are, then go to BaseballProspectus.com. It will blow your mind.), yet he never gets mentioned with the best hitters in the game. He has actually had a better season offensively in 2006 than David Ortiz's 2005. And I'm saying this as a Red Sox fan. Hafner is pretty damn fantastic, but playing in Cleveland, people who are not fans of Central Division teams or sabermetrics geeks like myself have no idea who he is.

Lance Berkman is underrated by everyone except Houston. The Astros would be nowhere without him. Luke Scott didn't get enough credit either when he hit for the reverse natural cycle this year. MLB.com and other baseball sites don't list anyone who has hit for the reverse natural cycle, so as far as I know, he's the only one.

Ummmm....actually Jeter is leading the league in average but Mauer has a higher OBP.
Lance Berkman: 40 HR, 121 RBI and .309 avg with a .412 obp and that guy still gets little respect despite the fact that he IS the astro's offense.

Grady Sizemore and Travis Hafner (yes, even tho he is out for the rest of the season, but he came close to beating the MLB grand slam single season record if not for a stupid pitcher hitting him)
