You probably have a head gasket leaking. That is why you are not seeing leakage as it is being burned in the cylinders of your vehicle. In the winter time you might notice it smoking more than usual from the tail pipe but in the summer months it can be hard to detect that way especially if it is not a really severe problem. Best have it checked by a reputable shop or a dealership as they should remove the spark plugs and check their condition and perhaps even do pressure test on the engines cooling system and find out for sure where the coolant is going.

I had one and it's leaking thru the head gasket into the cylinder and vaporizing out the tailpipe. You're lucky. Most of those the bearings rattle, the engine smokes and stinks like ****. It was a common problem.

if you have to keep adding fluid to the reservoir, you may have a very tiny leak in the radiator or head gaskets ... does the engine miss? look for white smoke(steam) in the exhaust, if there, have the head gaskets replaced before you get engine damage .. to check the radiator, have a pressure test done at a garage ...

also look for signs of coolant stains or puddles under the car before you drive it
