I'm not sure if i have that answer but you might want to check the University of Akron and the Akron Museum of Art. I know they Sometimes sponsor a Poetry festival in the spring.

Im not sure how old you are but you can also look out for some open mic nights in different clubs or coffee houses. I know more about the ones in cleveland then i do in akron... if you want those names then feel free to contact me.

Best of luck and keep writing!

Some libraries also have "poetry" nights too, but I don't know what the schedules are. Call the Akron Summit County Public Library, the library in Cuyahoga Falls, or the Stow-Monroe Falls Library. I know for certain that the Barberton Public Library does not have poetry readings scheduled, but might be interested in setting something like that up if someone wanted to be the Person In Charge of it. You'd have to call them and talk to them about setting something like that up. While on the subject: Border's Books sometimes has poetry readings. They're held in the cafe' and I've heard that they are well attended, at least the one on Route 18. Call them and ask them about it! And then there's the University of Akron. Major oportunity for poets!!
